FAQ
We have a test bike in size L. It is available either by picking the bike in the Brittany region, or by sending the bike by shipping. The test is done over a fixed period and financed by the tester. For anyone interested in this testing the bike, contact us at contact@rezal-bikes.com
What are the delivery times for my order?
We do everything we can to send your order as soon as possible. Subject to availability, a bare frame is posted within 48 hours in order to have your order received in less than a week. For "custom" painting, the frames are sent to be painted by our service provider upon receipt of the order. Allow approximately 3/4 weeks for delivery.
For complete bikes assembled to order, the delivery times depend on the receipt by Rezal bikes of the various spare parts. We make sure you are regularly informed during process.
Do I need to be careful about when assembling my frame?
Thanks to our tech choices (threaded bottom bracket, post mount caliper, UDH derailleur hanger), the assembly of our hardtail is very easy.
The only thing you need to be careful is for 31.6mm seatpost. You must grease the seatpost prior to installation. If you do not grease the seatpost, a process called galvanic corrosion (reaction of steel in contact of aluminum) will make the remove of the seatpost very difficult over time. This is a prerequisite to respect on all steel bicycle frames.
Why use steel on bicycles?
Steel is durable, strong and has a lower impact on the environment because it was easily recyclable. In addition, the simple, clean lines of the tubes give an uncompromising look to our frames.
Due to their excellent mechanical characteristics, Reynolds' fully custom steel tubes allow us to play with the thicknesses and profiles of the tubes in order to give our frame vertical compliance impossible to find with any other material.
Where are the bikes made?
The design, making of prototypes (notching, welding), testing, painting, assembly of the bikes is made here in Quimper, Brittany, France.
The industrial making of the frames is handmade in South America by a well know craftsman.
At Rezal bikes we are always looking to improve our carbon footprint and our production methods, while maintaining our quality/price ratio goals.
For the future we are already in contact with a small factory in Eastern Europe, very renowned in the industry, in order to continue our approach to reducing our carbon footprint.
Does my bike require any special maintenance?
Our steel frames are strong, very strong, but they require some maintenance against rust to maximise the almost lifetime durability of the steel.
All our frames are treated externally with a clear coat, over the paint, to optimize the protection of the frame. We also suggest to install an adhesive ("clear protect" / "invisiframe" or similar) to maximize protection.
All frames are treated internally with an anti-rust solution. However, to reduce the risk of rust inside the frame, we suggest to frequently apply an anti-rust spray in the inside of the tubes.

Can I try the bike before buying?

Do we ship frames and complete bikes abroad?
Absolutely. Shipping abroad is possible. For orders outside the EU, be careful, however, because you will have to pay the various taxes. For more information, do not hesitate to contact us.
Do I need to respect any prerequisites when assembling my frame?
Thanks to our technological choices (screwed bottom bracket, post mount caliper, UDH derailleur hanger), the assembly of our hardtail is very easy.
The only prerequisite to respect is for the assembly of a 31.6mm telescopic seatpost. You must grease the seatpost before its installation. Indeed, if you do not grease the seatpost, a process called galvanic corrosion (reaction of steel in contact with aluminum) will make the disassembly of the seatpost very difficult in the long run. This is a prerequisite to respect on all steel bicycle frames.
If you are installing a seat post with a diameter less than 31.6mm, which requires a plastic adapter, you are not required to grease the seat post, although this is still recommended.
